Dear DESC Members:
All 3 of the proposals are flawed. Each and every one of them fails to properly account for the MANDATORY bodies required by National Constitution and Canons. Missing from each and every proposal are both the required Diocesan Review Committee and the required Ecclesiastical Court for the Trial of any Priest or Deacon. Refer to Title IV.3(A).1 and Title IV.4(A).1 of the national Constitution and Canons. It is completely disingenuous to tell the diocese that "the structures are all in these drafts" knowing that there are two major bodies which are not reflected. Beyond those two, the draft I would suggest that all 3 drafts be benchmarked against the attached list of mandatory bodies to ensure they are all accounted for. Anything else is simply misleading. All required bodies must be accounted for in each model. Something this important does not permit sloppiness or "hand waving". Precision is required, and not (as of this reading) present. Once adopted, the Convention needs to know with certainty what the results will be.
