Licensing

  • Do you have a license? There are two licenses that all churches should consider having. One is for music and the other is for videos:
    • CCLI (Christian Copyright Licensing International)
      http://www.ccli.com/UnitedStates.cfm
With this license you are allowed to copy from over 150,000 songs for congregational use. It enables you to make overhead transparencies, song sheets and songbooks, input lyrics on a computer, record worship services, and make arrangements of the music (where no published version exists). The fee in for 2005 was $165.00.
    • CVLI (Christian Video Licensing International)
      http://www.cvli.org/cvli/index.cfm
With this license you are allowed to use portions of movies to illustrate sermon points, Sunday schools and Youth Groups can view the latest videos, educational classes can use videos for teaching and training. It covers manufactured videocassettes and videodiscs purchased, rented or borrowed. It does not cover materials that have been copied from another source or recorded from TV. As of 2005, over 80 producers were participating in this license, including Disney. The fee for 2005 was $180.00 for up to 500 members.

Personal Devotion

  • Back to Basics/Lo Essencial del Cristiano
PDF format. At Session 1 of Diocesan Convention 2006, Deacon Nordwick and Bishop Romero commended this form to be shared with members of congregations. A person can fill out the form and place it somewhere handy where it will remind him or her of the commitment to regular study, prayer and worship.
  • Back to Basics/Lo Essencial del Cristiano
MS-Word format. Browsers frequently "hang" when you try to open MS-Word files directly in the browser. It is recommended for the MS-Word format that you "right-click" the link and download the file, then open it from the location where you saved the file.
